David Alon

Education:

Background:
After his first experiences in journalism at the National French radio in Paris and some collaborations with magazine press), David Alon moved to the Czech Republic in 2002. Since then, he mainly works for the Czech radio (French redaction of Český Rozhlas) and for a famous French travel-book (le Guide du Routard)

Joseph Beamer

Education:

Background:
Mr. Beamer has taught business math and general mathematics at Indiana University-Bloomington before moving the Czech Republic. He also has worked in research in advanced Physics, Geology, and Atmospheric Science and Environmental Science at Indiana University. He has a strong desire to pursue one or more advanced degrees in the future.

Lucia Ceckova

Background:
Ms. Ceckova is a professional with 10+ years experience in international IT management, working for a Top 50 companies as a Global Program Service Manager. She is chiefly responsible to govern Service Management for all DP DHL transitions acting upon risks on existing and future business initiatives. Ms. Ceckova in her career worked in multiple positions mainly in Global Project, Program, Risk & Financial management.

Bruce Gahir

Background:
Bruce is the director of Ethics2biz Solutions Ltd.(www.ethics2biz.com)  He is a freelance lecturer and consultant, his main  interests are Business Ethics, Management and Financial Accounting and Information Systems. Bruce lectures at the MBA and Bachelors degree level in universities and colleges in Prague and he worked in London as a Management Accountant with HSBC before moving to Prague in 1999.

Currently Bruce is actively involved in the CSR and business ethics areas with the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic and is a member of the CSR working group developing several projects relating to CSR and Business Ethics. He has also published several papers and articles on business ethics. Bruce combines his experience in financial systems management working in international institutions and banks in London together with his teaching experience in philosophy, economics, business ethics and financial accounting to assist him in developing the training, consultancy and education requirements of Ethics2biz Solutions.

Jason Johnson

Background:
A native of California, Jason has instructed legal and business English since 2008 in Prague and also currently works at Traficon, a financial advisory firm, as a Senior Analyst advising clients and providing due diligence on green technology investments.

Tomáš Konečný

Background:
The research focus of Mr. Konečný centers on development, migration, and trade. Previously he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Sociology, Czech Academy of Sciences, and at the Ministry of Education. He was also a Junior Researcher at the Economics Institute, Czech Academy of Sciences.
Mr. Konečný’s teaching experience includes lecturing Transition Economics course at the University of Economics Prague, Development Economics in MA EITEI program, and teaching assistantship positions (Microeconometrics I-III, Industrial Organization) at CERGE-EI.

Peter M. Luketic

Background:
Mr. Luketic, an Ohio native, has been teaching and translating in Prague after coming from Germany where he translated for the US Military. He has attended the University of Zagreb, Croatia and The Ohio State University where he studied Slavic Languages and Linguistics. Pete currently runs his own translation and English teaching services business in Prague. He has worked in corporate (banks) and retail (direct sales) customer service areas.

Dr. Vidhu Maggu

Background:
Dr. Maggu is an educationist with multi-cultural work experience ranging from university teaching and academic research, to organizing and conducting workshops for Multi National Corporations.  She possesses several years experience in guiding and managing a small business company; carries International Organizational experience of working for NGO’s, National level Government Institutions as well as commercial organizations. She has presented papers at national and international forums. She is currently engaged in teaching different courses for various Universities (both national and international) in Prague, teaching both Humanity and Business based disciplines.

Dr. Maggu is a representative of the Council of Higher Education Institutions of the Czech Republic(Rada Vysokych Skol) for one of the Universities where she is teaching, which has appointed her as the Deputy Guarantor for their M.A. programme in Public Policy; a member of their State Examinations Committee and an Advisor & Opponent for their B.A. and M.A.Thesis in Sociology.

Ken Nicholas

Education:

Background:
Mr. Nicholas arrived in Czechoslovakia in 1991 and began a career as a writer and publisher. He has authored seven books (as Sinclair Nicholas), including a five-year, 1200-page project, The Comprehensive American-Czech Dictionary. Mr. Nicholas spent well over a decade (1991-2004) working exclusively as a writer and publisher, then in 2005 began teaching college level courses in writing.

In the last three years (2006-2009), Mr. Nicholas has authored nearly 30 research projects published through EBSCO, a library database company that most U.S. colleges and universities (including Tiffin) offer students for online research. Mr. Nicholas has also written several textbooks for a Texas-based education publisher, and his freelance editorials and articles have been published in various magazines and journals around the world. His most recent book, The AmeriCzech Dream was well received in the Czech Republic, and was acclaimed in Czech national newspapers and television broadcasts.

Steven Pashkewych, M.A.

Background
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Steven Pashkewych started his teaching career at the secondary level for a number of years in Toronto after receiving a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and a B.Ed. in New Zealand, then moving on to teaching at the university level after receiving an MA in International Relations from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. He has taught courses in International Politics at Seoul Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea as well as having taught International Relations and Politics-related courses at a number of universities in Prague since 2005.

Background:
Ondřej is currently working as an HR Consultant and Marketing Manager at Image Lab s.r.o, one of the Czech Republic’s top HR training and consultancy companies. As an HR Consultant, Ondrej has cooperated with many companies delivering trainings and consultancy projects. The main companies included Škoda Auto, ABB, Lincoln, DSV, Iveco Irisbus, Hachette Filipacchi and many others.

Mgr. David Řemínek, LL.M., M.B.A.

Background:
David worked at a local well-established boutique intellectual property law firm. Later, he worked for a London based law firm (Bird & Bird). David is an attorney at law qualified to practice in the Czech Republic. He teaches International Business Law and other law related courses, mostly in the MBA programs.

Chris Shallow

Background
Laurent worked for a PR agency in Ostrava for a fixed length contract during the French Presidency of the EU. Then he moved to Prague where he holds the position of Invoicing Responsible for one of the top 5 FMCG Company in the world. During the same time he started as a freelance journalist and content writer. Laurent has also taught French and was a teacher assistant in Mathematics, Statistics, International Macroeconomics, European Politics and European Political Philosophy.

Natalia Vasquez

Background:
Natalia is an inter-disciplinary artist who has been living in Prague since 2004. Throughout her time here she has photographed for online news sites such as Prague.tv and Provokator.org, organized and curated an international digital art exhibition in 2006 entitled PixelPops! Praha (www.poppingpixels.org), documented the Prague Indie music scene, worked as Art Director on the Czech/American feature film The Wrong Mr. Johnson, and worked as Co-Director of the Zizkov International Photography Festival (ZIP Fest,www.zipcenter.org). In 2008 Natalia participated in a one-month residency at Popop Studios (www.popopstudios.com) in Nassau, The Bahamas. Her work has been exhibited internationally. Tom Vinkler

Background:
After graduation, Tom joined PricewaterhouseCoopers Prague office and spent 3 years in assurance department doing audit and due-diligence projects. After that, he moved to the corporate finance department where he worked on recovery and restructuring projects (mainly recovery of LG Phillips). After leaving the consultancy business, Tom held a Finance manager role in McDonald’s CR & SK where he focused on strategic corporate finance together with leading a major part of finance department.

Sylvia Vondráčková, MBA

Background:
Sylvia Vondráčková is a new member of our faculty as of fall 2009, after having worked over 6 years in a P.O.P. advertising agency (SARA, s.r.o./ DesignTeam). She was the marketing director and later the export director establishing sister companies and distributor partnerships in Poland, Austria and France. She is the author of numerous articles concerning new trends within the point of purchase advertising segment, printed in Czech marketing magazines. Sylvia is currently raising a 2-year-old son and working on contract for different advertising and investment companies seeking external marketing or translation services. Teaching at Tiffin is her current most exciting challenge.

Dave Watson, MBA

Background:

He moved to the Czech Republic to create new media properties for Oskar Mobil and Vodafone. Background:
Mr Yeboah begun his career as a National Service person in Presbyterian Women Teacher Training College (PWTC) in Aburi (Ghana) where he taught Social and Environmental Studies. After his one year service he became the Head of Social and Environmental Studies at PWTC.

In 2001 Mr Yeboah moved to London to begin his professional Accounting studies. He, at the same time, taught business studies at Highbury Growth School and many other Secondary schools in London as a Supply Teacher.

In 2006, Augustine worked as a Communication Specialist for Icon Communication in Prague.
Currently Mr Yeboah works for ExxonMobil as a Senior Credit/ Financial Analyst. At the same time, he studies privately for the final level of the ACCA professional qualification.
